2023 - PRESENT

In 2023, I wanted to change things up. I’d been working primarily with human resources, learning, development, and talent clients within our org. I wanted to start working with our marketing and creative teams. I transferred organizations, from Consulting to what we call “Accenture Song” which is the world’s largest tech-powered creative agency.

My role as Design Director within our “Marketing Creative” org is to re-shape our brand so we can show up as more of an agency than consultancy for our creative clients. As our Proposal Design Practice Lead, I work with a variety of designers to help them understand our new system and brand, and design beautiful proposals for our clients to sell new work and grow our business.

OVERVIEW

One of the biggest challenges for Accenture Song is our brand. We do billions of dollars of work for all of the Fortune 500 companies, but nobody really knows our brand, and we can often be misconstrued as more of a “consulty” agency rather than a mega-marketing agency powered by Droga5, The Monkeys, and other massive design, branding, creative, marketing and advertising creative teams.

As part of my transfer into the org, they recognized my ability to help shape our deals and proposals (usually made in PowerPoint), going from stale design to something more creative, premium and cutting edge.

WHAT I DID

Starting from scratch, I worked with our Creative Leaders across Droga5 and Song to understand our current business and clients, targeting client pain points, challenges with our brand, and other potential impacts that could have influenced how we were showing up as “Accenture Song” in the marketplace.

I conducted competitive research, examining brands like Publicis, WPP, Omnicom, and created moodboards and brand concepts for our leadership to review. After settling on a specific look and feel, I began crafting our design system in Figma and PowerPoint, building a template with 200+ variations of slideware, content layouts, data visualizations, etc. to empower our designers across our portfolio and to shape how we would show up in proposals and presentations to new clients.

Lastly, I’ve been supervising and acting as a Design Director on every major proposal we’ve submitted, including for brands like Meta, Google, Ray-Ban, Covered California, IHG, Hydro Quebec, Stellantis, McDonald’s, MARS, Roku, and more. I oversee all of our designers (10+) to ensure that our system is consistent and that our designers are growing their skillsets.

Since starting in this role, our conversion rates on new business opps/RFPs have increased by ~20%, with clients sharing feedback that our revamped brand has instilled confidence in our ability to show up as a creative partner and agency.
