A friend of mine leads digital marketing for the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The library holds a monthly fundraising gala where they feature a variety of well-known speakers. In June 2019, Susan Orlean (author of "The Library Book," a history of the Los Angeles Public Library) hosted the gala virtually. LFLA asked me to create a video interview so she could host remotely.
I cobbled together a small crew and we filmed this on my RED Dragon 6K. The library made it easy to film some amazing, fantastical shots. And Susan was as colorful as her green-died hair!
The Library Foundation of Los Angeles needs funding to keep it’s organization running. That means hosting big galas, events, readings with bestselling authors, etc. The Los Angeles Library also has a really fascinating history, after having burned down, which is documented in Susan Orleans’ bestselling novel “The Library Book.”
Susan was tabbed to host a gala in June 2019, but unfortunately was unable to attend. As a result, LFLA asked me to direct their video while she was in town.
